There are also business card template websites available online

There are a wide variety of choices available if you are looking to create your own business cards, whether you go for the “DIY” option of printing out designs at home using an inkjet printer or you use a business card printer to print from a variety of set designs.  There are also business card template websites available online which let you draw up your own designs in an online studio before delivering them directly to your door.

The most inexpensive option is to design and print the business cards using perforated business cards sheets, which can be found in stationary shops.  Attempting to feed the card through a printer can be difficult, as it depends on what thickness of card the printer is compatible with.  Most inbuilt computer software will not produce a professional finish to the design and the layout can tend to look a little bland, so (Depending on how good your artistic skills are), scanning in hand-drawn images which can be used alongside word-processed text can be a way of producing some very striking looking designs.  Printing and alignment are just two of the problems you can encounter when using a computer with perforated business cards, but depending on how polished you want them to look (Are you promoting a blue chip company, or a craft stall?) they can serve a purpose.

Card cutters are available to make your own business cards with, but they do take some degree of practice in order to get the effect right.  Another way to create your own business cards is to look online for websites which offer a variety of different business card templates for you to then alter, or programs by which you can then create your own business card templates.  Once the design is finalized, all you need to do is to save it and pay online.  The business cards can then be delivered to your door.  The fact that this can be done almost anywhere with a laptop and internet connection makes it one of the most popular methods of designing and making business cards available.

Another way to create and design your own business card templates is to use a business card printer.  These let you decide on your own business card templates, however design options can be rather limited and the business card printer can take some time to use.  On the upside, the finished product can be made directly for you there and then, which for some is a bonus.

Whether you decide to use a business card printer, use business card templates online or you make your own business cards from scratch, always measure up the cost of production against your budget.  You may wish to use a less expensive method of creating your business cardsif you wish to save extra money for the enterprise you are promoting.

Is there a way to store scanned business cards online?

Question by Les: Is there a way to store scanned business cards online?
I currently have a folder with many many business cards given to me by vendors, clients and other business contacts.

I am wanting to scan all of these cards into digital formats and find a way where other people in my company could access this information.

I would obviously prefer it to have some search features as well, where if they only knew a name or a company name they could then find the corresponding business card.

Has anyone heard of a website or program that could do something like this? I have a scanner, a website I administer, and access to many other tools, if you even know of a way I could make it work myself….

Q&A: Is there any printer that provide Thermochromic Ink printing service for Business Card or Magazine?

Question by Hoi polloi: Is there any printer that provide Thermochromic Ink printing service for Business Card or Magazine?

to my knowledge there are only two domestic thermocromic ink manufacturers (CTI and LCR/Hallcrest) that can make an offset quality ink. These inks are popular among label printers and screen printers, but i dont know of any commercial offset printers that are using thermochrom on quality paper substrates. This sounds pretty challenging, i am fairly certain that these inks are liquid inks and not paste inks like they would use in sheetfed offset or web offset. You will certainly have to go to a flexo press or a gavure press.

I would start with Inland Label & Marketing, they are the company that produces the Coors Light thermochrom label. They may be able to quote for you or at least give you the name of a place that could print for you.

Are there any companies that offer free business cards with free shipping?

Question by H: Are there any companies that offer free business cards with free shipping?
There was a company who offered basically unlimited business cards for free, including free shipping, because they were funded by advertisers they would places ads for on the back of the business cards. They still profited due to the advertising. Are there any companies that still do this or do something similar? I know it’s not the most effective route for a business card, but it’s something.

Will There Be a Time When the Business Card Goes Electronic?

The increasing number of commercial transactions that are being carried out through the electronic media that the Internet represents are slowly but definitely changing the way we conduct our lives. Not only in a personal manner or the way we interact with those around us, but also in the way that we work and provide for our families and ourselves.

So much so, that in the past we used to have customised Christmas cards printed, we used to address them and write on them personal messages directed to those people that we love so much. Nowadays, people will log into a specific greeting card website and send hundreds of animated or still emails that will contain a link to an additional place where our Christmas card is located.

The same applies to our purchases; we can have products from across the world delivered to our doorstep in just a matter of weeks, and we can even pay for them in a matter of seconds without even having to leave our desk or chair. Communicating and contacting those that are dear to us once required dialling a phone number, walking to a house or writing and mailing a letter; now, all it takes is logging into a chat room or writing an email, and we can have an answer from that special someone just as quick.

If our personal life has changed that much, the way business is conducted by businesses in the world has to change too. As a result of this, even business cards have changed; most of the instant messaging programs such as the ones that you can use online, for example MSN, Yahoo and ICQ, have an option for the user to upload and create their own business card as an additional form of promotion.

The same thing applies to most email service providers, and even some cellular phones have this particular feature. Such a trend is reinforced by the ecological tidal wave that has been launched in all media and business worlds to use electronic media instead of paper and other consumables that require manufacturing processes that are said to pollute the air, soil and water of the world. Therefore, it is understandable to see that in a future not far away, business cards will become an electronic medium just like the Internet and emails.

Yet, just as with any other electronic media, electronic business cards will require to be a novelty, attention-catching and modern, otherwise they will be dismissed, just as today the paper variety are dismissed if they possess a lack flair. While business cards with just the name of the company and the relevant data will not be necessary or used anymore, attention grabbers such as animated graphics and even textured images will be the trendsetter for electronic business cards.

The dawn of the electronic Business Card is yet to come, however, it will happen and the business, company or independent professional that wants to thrive and bloom in the middle of this electronic birth has to keep up with the changing times.

It might be a good time to learn programming and computer design!

There Isn?t a Question About It: Get Business Cards

I’ve recently started writing a series of different articles discussing the various strengths and weaknesses of different types of advertising to help people to decide which forms might work best for their company. After all, different types of marketing have different things they’re best at, and different companies will prefer one over the other.

Now that I’ve come to business cards I quickly realized that doing the same for this particular subject wouldn’t be accurate, because when it comes to business card printing, you need it. This isn’t a matter of choice. If you think you can get by without business cards, you either need to get really lucky or quickly realize that business card printing is a must.

Why is it so needed?

Custom business cards provide a variety of basic practical purpose that you can’t avoid having. The first is the contact information they have. How are people supposed to contact you if you aren’t willing to give them a way of remembering that contact information?

This is the original purpose of a color business card and remains a vital aspect of it to this very day. We have yet to come up with a better way of giving a person our contact info.

This is a little more obvious, however, and most people are aware that they need business cards for this reason, but not everyone understands the marketing aspect to them, so let’s go into that.

A business card has the potential of being a great way of marketing yourself to people. Go beyond the contact information by using various images and other designs that makes your card unique and memorable. You want your card to both help people get in touch with you and help them remember you.

The latter of the two is just as important as the former even though many people seem to fail to realize that. Too often people forget about the marketing aspect to their business cards and only worry about trying to get good contact information on them.

I think I should also add that you can make use of both sides of your business cards. That’s another thing people overlook far too often. Make good use of all the space you have allotted to you and make your card as unique and memorable as you can.

There are all sorts of different ways you can go about making a very unique business card. Be aware too that the more personal your card is the better of a job it will naturally do in getting your name close to a person. If your card looks the same as everyone else’s card, will you really be getting your name out there?

Yes, you need business cards. What type of business card printing you get done is up to you, but never think that you don’t need any, because if you want to be successful, you do.
