WTXF Good Day Blooper – 2001

Hit “more” if you want the full story. I want to keep some of the surprise of this clip intact for those who haven’t seen it or heard about it, and I think part of the fun is just seeing it happen for the first time. I put the basic story in the video, though. So there be spoilers. Okay, I think I’ve gone over the cutoff, so here we go. WTXF was running a promotion called “Manic Monday”, in which local workers could drop off their business card at the Fox studios. Donya and Mike would then draw the business card on air and the winner would have the station show up at the workplace, cameras in hand, and treat them to lunch. As noted in the clip, most of the cards were from businesses that were located in the downtown area, near WTXF’s studios at 4th and Market. This is part of the reason why, that morning, Donya and Mike happened to pick the business card of an employee at KYW-3, which was located one block away at *5th* and Market. This would have made for compelling television. Unfortunately, I have to use the term “would have” because the employee in question was, in fact, the spouse of a Fox employee, thus rendering him ineligible. Part of the reason this works so well is because of the two anchors. Their reactions are *priceless*, particularly Mike’s slowly expanding grin as he notices the large CBS eyes on the business card. Good Day was fun to watch precisely because of moments like these; this was before they went to the larger studio, the tighter format, and

What do you think? Answer below!

Simple Steps to Creating a Good Business Card

In essence, the business card is an extension of you and your business. Giving it out to customers is like giving a piece of yourself to them. This only means that you need to create one exceptional card in order to catch attention in the market.

Keep in mind that it is not always possible to get to know someone, particularly a potential customer, in just a short period of time no matter how much you talk. Most of the time, people will not remember everything you told them. So, if you want the people you meet to remember you, do it with use of business cards. This simple one piece material usually contains your name, business name, contact numbers, address, logo, and a description of what you do.

Ideally, your business card should help people know and remember you. It should tell them who you are, what you do, and the nature of your business. Your card should focus on a single feature of your business. You may be a real estate agent or a laundry shop, no matter what business you have your card should focus on just one crucial aspect of your business.

Here are simple steps to creating a good business card:

First of all, determine what you want your business card to tell your target customers. Do you want your cards to encourage them to buy your products? Do you want them to follow your ideas? Whatever you decide, listing down everything about your business will help you showcase your business effectively.
Determine if you want a formal looking card or a light-hearted or informal one. This will help you design your cards more effectively.
Make sure to list down all components of your business card. Organize all information and omit those that are now so important. Look for shorter and simple words to maximize the space you have in your business card.
Look at the business cards of other businesses, especially the successful ones. Study what made their cards truly captivating. List down your observation and use those that you think will give your card an exceptional look.
Draft your design. Include everything you want your card to have including the images, clip art, logo, and any other detail.
Review your design. Before you get your business cards printed, proofread it. See if there are changes that need to be made. Have a friend look at your design to ensure you did not omit any error or mistake.
Print your final design on a good quality business card stock. Use good paper ink to ensure you create an exceptional print out.
Hand out your business card printing to the right people at the right time and place.

It may not be easy to produce a good quality business card at first, but with the help of the steps mentioned above you can easily create a card that will best highlight your business. Don’t give up at first try in designing your card. Continue creating drafts until you find the one that best compels your target customers. Keep in mind that you cards should be clear and easily understandable as you only have a small space in your business card with which to promote your business. So, be sure to take advantage of it.

This guy is a really bad seller. I ordered custom cards, paid 0 to get these made… he said it took him 20 HOURS to make these, and that is just a load of bull crap. These were made on card stock paper and poorly printed. And the cards have no back! The seller won’t refund my money even though I have a legal right to get my money back for unsatisfactory items. I used my birthday money to buy these, I’m going to be 21 on the 17th. His ebay is Hectorcollectorselecter and his email is hectorblessings@yahoo.com. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER! HE DOES NOT WANT TO MAKE THE SELLER HAPPY!

Where is a good place to get plain, classy business cards online or in person?

Question by student: Where is a good place to get plain, classy business cards online or in person?
Everywhere I look online, it’s all about full color or two color business cards. I don’t want anything gaudy or flashy like that. I want a classy business card, on heavy, off-white paper, with raised lettering. Something like the boys over at Pierce & Pierce (American Psycho reference) would be drooling over. Where can I go to get something like that?

Different Business Cards Designs that will Help Make Good Impression

When you want to get good results in your marketing campaign, the single most important thing you can do is create a unique marketing strategy. With the tough competition going on in the market today, it becomes exceptionally important to stand out and be memorable. This doesn’t mean though that you create outrageous marketing materials. Remember that this won’t work in your business. What will work are a little creativity and personality, and a lot of effort to make your business stand out.

A great way to practice your creativity is through business card printing. It’s important that you come up with a unique and interesting design to make your business cards look interesting. Creating a mediocre design would not help make your business stand out. It would help if you treat your cards as an artwork that you have to present to your customers and prospects. In order to get their attention, you need to present them with a fresh design. Here are some design ideas to help you create a good first impression:

]]>

1 – Go for a minimalist design. When we say a minimalist design, it actually means stripping a design to its simplest form. In the past, black and white cards are the best representation of simplicity. But you don’t actually need to stay out of colors just to keep a clean and simple design. If you want to use colors, the key is to choose colors that are most appropriate to the image and emotion you want to convey to people. There should also be enough white space so the texts are easy to read. All nonessential details should be kept away from your cards so you can stick with the minimalist approach.

2 – Vintage can be fun. Some people think that old-style designs are boring. When you mention the word vintage, they would often think of outdate and old fashioned. But if you are a creative person, you can bring vintage to a whole new level. You can give an old design a twist to come up with a trendy design. You never know. You might awaken a sentimental emotion that will win you the attention of your prospects. Use old pictures in your cards to create that feeling of nostalgia.

3 – Come up wit playful designs. A playful design looks cute and attention-grabbing. You can put a cartoon or caricature in your business card templates to make them look playful. Be sure to be creative so you can draw attention and your prospects smile. Remember that people are likely to get interested in a business that they feel comfortable with. A light hearted way of presenting yourself is also an easy way of building connections with customers. If you can do this in your cards, you can surely get curious attention at once.

4 – A ragged design is cool. If you want to convey the impression of a hip and cool business, then create a ragged design. This type of design usually involves rough elements. This can be a bit tricky to create, so you might want to be careful in such design. You don’t want to end up with a vicious looking card, so pay enough attention in designing such card.

Barclaycard and Their Customers Give

Barclaycard and Their Customers Give £380,000 to Good Causes with Their Charity Credit Card

(PRWEB) July 12, 2006

Over the last year Barclaycard donated £380,000 through its Charity Credit Card and the money was distributed equally between four charities.

Barclaycard’s donations were distributed equally among: Save the Children, Marie Curie Cancer Care, The Samaritans and The Woodland Trust.

Adrian Scott, Head of Open Market Direct Sales, came up with the idea of a Charity Card in early 2004. “Barclaycard employees already give to the community in which they live and work. Most find the experience very rewarding and the results are fantastic. However, we felt we could do more and I believe that people like to help other people. Knowing that you will be helping a charity when you use your credit card makes people feel that they are doing something, no matter how big or small the amount may be, rather than nothing to help those less fortunate than themselves.” Barclaycard launched their Charity Card in September 2004 and it became so popular that Barclaycard decided to feature it on the homepage of their website.

Barclaycard – Inspiring dramatic change for children

A spokesperson for Save the Children said, “The funds raised through the Barclaycard Charity Card have significantly contributed to enabling Save the Children to deliver immediate and lasting improvement to children’s lives world-wide.

We believe that all children have a right to healthcare and a quality basic education, that they should be protected from abuse and exploitation and that they have a right to grow up free from hunger. Barclays is a long-standing supporter of Save the Children’s work. We are very grateful that the funds raised by the Barclaycard Charity Card can be spent where the need is greatest, to ensure that the most vulnerable children get the chance to experience happier, healthier lives.”

Protecting the countryside

The Woodland Trust stated that the money raised from Barclaycard Charity Card holders has helped them to purchase, plant and care for new saplings, create and protect habitats belonging to our precious woodland wildlife, provide woodland discovery events for children across the UK and to maintain access to our woods for everybody to enjoy in peace and safety.

Helping to care for the terminally ill

Emily Goulborn of Marie Curie said “Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families. The money that has been raised through Barclaycard’s Charity Card means that we can offer this service to even more people. For every £20 we receive from Barclaycard we can cover the cost of one more hour of Marie Curie nursing.”

Confidential help

“The money we have received from Barclaycard has helped Samaritans provide a unique, confidential and emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those that may lead to suicide,” said a spokesperson.

Barclaycard say they are very pleased to be helping so many charities through the use of their credit card.

Question by Isela E: In need of a great business card printing service with great prices and good turn around time.?
Any suggestions. Not the thin cheep looking ones! Ones with uv.

Best answer:

Answer by Joyous
Well, I print all my cards on 14point gloss…. but I have no idea how many you want to print or what price you expect to get them for, or what you think a good turnaround time is. :)

Send me an email – handsomeprintscanada@gmail.com — Tell me what you need and all the details above, and I’ll see if I can help you out. Usually an order of business cards on the press takes 2 business days and then shipping, but I can explain better in an email than on here once I get all your specifics.
