Survey: What is your first impression, when they hand you their business card, and its got…?

You are handed a business card which has perforated edges, or a printers logo on back. Indications that their cards are either free or homemade. How does this effect your opinion of their professionalism or their percieved expertise in their line of work?

The printer’s logo is fine, but the perforated edges would really irk me.
I think it’s not that I mind that the card was printed for free, but that they didn’t even care enough to cut off the edges. It just looks sloppy. So yeah, with the perforated edges, that would definitely affect my opinion of their professionalism in a negative way.

the business card is a prospective client’s first impression of your company. if you want your business to come across as professional then it would be nice to invest in some high quality business cards too, as this is a representation of your company. sloppy, perforated edges really take away from the professionalism of a business card.

Home made business cards make no impression at all. No body takes them seriously. Free business cards made by professionals are all right. It’s acceptable and understood.
