If I cancel my card, can an online business still charge me another way?

I made the mistake of signing up for an online ‘risk-free’ trial offer that turned into anything but risk free.

No. Once you cancel your card how could they?
Remember, there is no such thing as a “free” anything.

You could also complain to the credit card company and tell them you will not accept future charges. If you are in the right they might get some money back for you.

You should cancel that trial offer via letter if you can. Instead of canceling the card, check with your credit card company to see how to prevent any additional charges from that offer. They might just give you a new account number.

    Harbor,
Guess what the company does have though? Their called collections departments for people who don’t pay…expect a call.
