Apani Announces New Network Security Appliances

Apani®, a leading global provider of identity-aware network security solutions, today announces the release of its EpiGuard network security appliance product line. EpiGuard appliances function in concert with Apani’s EpiForce® Security Software suite to fully protect your network environment. EpiGuard appliances provide the same encryption, segmentation and identity aware access and control capabilities as EpiForce software agents. EpiForce provides security to every node within the network environment, regardless of operating system, platform, or application.
Three models of EpiGuard Network Security Appliances are available:
EpiGuard Work Group: Network data protection appliance for client systems, point-of-sale(POS) systems, network printers and scanners, industrial equipment, and other remote devices.
EpiGuard Data Center I: Network data protection appliance for server and data processing equipment (e.g., payment card or health record processing systems), edge-of-responsibility gateway protection, workstations, and legacy server applications.
EpiGuard Data Center II: Network data protection appliance for enterprise server and data processing equipment (e.g., payment card or health record processing systems), edge-of responsibility gateway protection, and mainframe applications.
EpiGuard security appliances, paired with Apani’s EpiForce software security suite, can be used to limit access to payment card data, personal health information (PHI) and other private information through logical security zones and policy based encryption of data in motion. This effectively limits the scope of audits and reduces overall costs. EpiGuard protects network devices, workgroups, and network elements as an alternative to EpiForce software Agents. Some of the elements that can be protected by EpiGuard are:
Mission-critical servers requiring network security protection
Transaction Gateway Routing Equipment
Third-party managed or third-party owned servers
Point-of-Sale (POS) Devices
Printers and scanners
Entities at the boundary between internal and external security responsibility
Legacy Server Systems
